Biography

Amel Aït-Hamouda is a doctoral candidate in comparative literature at the University of Sorbonne Nouvelle Paris 3, attached to the FIRL – Forme et Idées de la Renaissance aux Lumières – EA174 research unit. Her thesis, co-supervised by Professors Marc Hersant and

Jean-Paul Sermain, focuses on the comparative analysis of the French versions of One Thousand and One Nights. As a foreign language lecturer, she has worked in several universities in Africa, Asia and Europe and was responsible for French literature and translation courses. She was awarded the ‘Eugen Ionescu’ research grant coordinated by the Francophone Universities Agency (AUF). She was hosted by the International College of Literary Translators (CITL) and is currently a resident at the French Institute for Anatolian Studies (IFEA). She is also an editorial member of the journal of literary studies of Laval University, Chameaux, and a member of the scientific committee of the journal for young researchers, Écriture de soi-R.
