About Ece Karakaş
Ece Karakaş completed her undergraduate studies at Bilgi University in 2020 with a major in International Relations and minors in Asian Studies at Kansai Gaidai University and Ancient History and Cultures at Uppsala University. In 2023, she graduated from the Cultural Anthropology master’s program at Uppsala University. Between 2021-2022 she worked as Curatorial Assistant at Uppsala Art Museum and Artipelag Art Museum. In 2022, she was selected as European Heritage Youth Ambassador representing Turkey, a networking program supported by the Europa Nostra. In 2023, she worked as a Site Coordinator at the 14th Stockholm Fringe Festival. After her master’s degree, she worked as a History Researcher at Blockville Digital Assets, which designs historical open world computer games. She currently volunteers in various cultural organizations such as Istanbul City Council Urban Culture and Cultural Heritage Working Group and Europa Nostra Turkey; and works full-time at Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts as an Assistant to General Director and coordinates the 10th edition of the Talât Sait Halman Translation Award.
