Following a course of study in French preparatory class to top higher education institutions, Syreen Forest earned a bachelor’s degree in History from the Sorbonne University in Paris and a master’s degree in Political Science with a focus on the Middle East and North Africa from SOAS, University of London. She then held the positions of researcher, fellow and programme coordinator at Columbia University’s Middle East centre in Amman, UNICEF in Nairobi, and the EuroMed Foundation in Copenhagen. Her work has focused on education, gender, public policies and human rights, principally as applied to Arab states. She has published articles on openDemocracy and Muftah. Currently, she works as an Evaluation consultant for UNESCO.
