Nolwenn Guedeau is a doctoral student in Islamic archaeology, co-supervised at the Universities of Aix-Marseille and Bonn. She is a specialist in the consumption of psychoactive plants in the Ottoman Empire. By linking archaeological, historical and iconographic sources, she seeks to understand the revival of social interactions between the 17th and 19th centuries. She has been working for four years in Iraqi Kurdistan as an archaeologist in Bassetki and Muqable, Dohuk Province. Passionate about oriental heritage, she has also carried out missions in Egypt, Turkey and Oman
