Melina Mac Donald

Researcher

Melina is a lawyer in art law and holds degrees in art history, art market and heritage law, and international law. She has enriched her knowledge through various experiences in law firms, an auction house (Christie’s France), then at UNESCO at the Secretariat of the 1970 Convention and at the Central Office for the Fight against Trafficking in Cultural Property (National Police). With a global vision of the different actors involved in the circulation of cultural property, she is interested in heritage conservation, restitution issues and the illicit traffic of cultural property. Passionate about art and culture from a very young age, Melina wishes above all to create bridges between the different cultures of this « complicated Orient » and thus participate in the protection and enhancement of the richness, past, present and future, specific to each cultural identity.
