Marwa Mourad Houssein

Marwa Mourad Houssein is a lover of languages and cultures. She holds degrees in Languages, Literatures and Foreign Cultures in Modern Arabic, Modern Hebrew and French as a Foreign Language from the National Institute of Oriental Languages and Cultures (INALCO) in Paris. With a particular interest in the Middle East and the Horn of Africa, she carried out linguistic research in Djibouti and a sociolinguistic analysis of Yemeni political discourse for her M.A. in Language Sciences at INALCO.
Committed to the values of peace culture and heritage protection, she joined the NGO the Observatory of Patrimoine d’Orient in 2022 as a volunteer in charge of communications and publications. In October 2022, as a member of a group of young researchers called the « Yemeni Migrations Team », she organised and presented her first webinar entitled « Yemeni Cultural Heritage, Transmission and (Re)appropriation » with a Yemeni cultural organisation – Boncast. Since October 2022, Marwa has been working as Communications Officer at the INGO Greenpeace France and is preparing her MBA in Marketing and Communications at ISCOD Business School. From now on, she intends to work on issues related to the promotion of the preservation of world heritage, in particular in the Arab world.
