Graduated from the Paris Institute of Political Studies (Sciences Po). Ilham Younes has founded in 2019 the Observatory for the Heritage in the Middle East. After collaborating as a researcher for the reviews “Carto” and “Moyen-Orient”and the French Institute of International and strategic studies ( IRIS) , she joined UNESCO in 2015 as a Cultural Attachée. During more than five years, she specialized in the challenges of heritage in the Arab States region. From 2015 to 2020, she was also in charge at UNESCO of coordinating the creation of the future National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art in Palestine.
